Teachers matter. Teachers impact student development and growth more than any other school-related factors. When teachers help students improve not just their test scores, but also their non-cognitive skills—including motivation, the ability to adapt to new situations, and self-regulation—students are more likely to thrive academically, emotionally and socially.

Knowing that teachers are the linchpins to good learning, We have structured our entire process around hiring and retaining the most talented teachers. Not only do we offer teachers competitive salaries, we offer teachers voice and choice in the safety and protocols conversation, job security with year-long contracts, community teacher support, and continuous professional development.

SUMMARY

Preschool teachers introduce young children to education and prepare them for kindergarten. They plan curricula that are age appropriate, and introduce themes and concepts children will expand upon in elementary school. They also look for signs of emotional or developmental issues and bring them to the attention of parents or guardians. The early childhood teacher job description can vary between childcare centers.

Elementary school teachers create lesson plans for math, English, social studies and science, but also to teach students the soft skills they need to be successful in school. They communicate with parents about their child’s progress and prepare students to take standardized tests.
